Policy

Woodinville Little League (WLL) is required by Little League (LL) International regulations to conduct annual national background checks of individuals as a condition of our charter.

This requirement was implemented by LL and WLL to:

      1)     protect our children and maintain LL as a hostile environment for those who would seek to do them harm.

      2)     protect individuals and leagues from possible loss of personal or league assets because of litigation.

      3)     take advantage of current technology and laws that have made background check information accessible to our league.

WLL will complete these background checks using ChoicePoint. The process is secure and confidential and the responsibility of the League President.

All Volunteers will complete a current Woodinville Little League Volunteer Application (2008 (WLL10/07)). Volunteers include but are not limited to Board of Director (BOD), Umpire (UMP), Manager, Coach, Team Scorekeeper, Team Parent, Team Uniform Coordinator, Team Practice Helper, Team Field Prep, Team Snack Organizer, Team Photographer, Team Party Planner, and anyone else who attends practices or helps at games.

You can enter the required background check information using our secure online registration process with Count Me In (CMI) by selecting ‘Volunteer’.

The Secretary will be present at the following events to gather background check information:

  ü  Monthly BOD meetings.

  ü  Mandatory manager meeting.

  ü  Player review.

  ü  Mandatory safety clinic.

  ü  WLL umpire training.

  ü  Equipment/Uniform pickup day.

  ü  Scorekeeping clinics.

If you are unable to complete the online background check or attend one of the above events, the background information can be mailed to:

The Volunteer applications require a FULL LEGAL NAME (First, Middle, Last), a SOCIAL SECURITY number, and answers to all questions, plus a SIGNATURE with DATE. A copy of picture identification (ID) (e.g. Washington driver license) is also required. The application process is not complete without all required information, and under no circumstances are parents able to participate in practices without being listed on the following Volunteer list.
