WOODINVILLE LITTLE LEAGUE MISSIONWoodinville Little League is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist youth in our community in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being by providing supervised baseball and softball games. Principle: All children ages 5-16 will be given the opportunity to play baseball/softball at a level that matches their age and skill set. Objectives: The regular season (March-June) shall be organized for general teaching of baseball and softball skills. · Every child registered by the annual deadline shall be guaranteed placement on a league team. · The regular season will include practices and organized games; players are expected to participate in both. Players will advance in level when they have met the required proficiency for each level of play. · Players will be selected for Minors and Majors teams according to the Little League draft process. · Players will be eligible for placement in particular divisions based on their age and skill sets. Principle: The league’s most skilled players will be given the opportunity to participate in post-season programs that will further challenge and improve their skills. Objectives: Post-season tournaments will be conducted for the Minor, Major, and Senior divisions where the emphasis will be on winning. Competitive All-Star Teams will be selected to represent our league in the District All-Star tournament (June-August). Principle: Coaches, umpires, board members and parents are expected to demonstrate the ideals of good sportsmanship, loyalty, honesty and respect for authority. |
