Approval of Minutes from December 4, 2007

Treasurer’s report

No treasurer report. Budget will be discussed at next meeting. IRS accepted change of fiscal yr from 10/1 to 9/30 to match LL.

Safety/UMP

Safety meeting scheduled 2/13/2008.

UMP recruiting goal of 2 UMP/team/level. AA UMP OK with 1 UMP, no UMP below AA. Prior years coach volunteers also umpired.

NAF/Interleague/D8/LL

NAF billing to begin ASAP at approximately 17,000/league. Reviewed NAF BOD work in awarding contracts, new maintenance contractor Scheralex (dba Turf Surfers, aka Scott Thornber). NAF BOD working on awarding concessions contractor.

2008 LL charter certificate received with certificate of liability insurance.

Registration:

Discussed scholarships, motion to accept $1,000 maximum scholarship, approved unanimously.

Online registration donations unchanged $465. Will stress matching at manager meetings.

Reviewed registration summary by level as of 1/5/2008, total BB 360 plus total SB 87. Confirmed that continuing online registration even when wait listed reducing manual registrations.

Recommendation from VP JR/SR for open JR manager to be considered at next meeting.

Mandatory manager meeting 1/23 & 1/24/2008. Mandatory training for all managers this season, recommend Dr Smoll – Positive Coaching for all managers.

Player Review

BB MJ & MN 2/1 & 2/2/2008. BOD members volunteered to help. No player review for BB JR/SR because only 1 team at each level. Tentatively no player review for SB because only 1 team at MJ and even though 3 teams at MN most prefer playing with friends.

Other

Calendar: UMP/BOD appreciation dinner conflict with Father’s day, agreed to change, new UMP/BOD Appreciation dinner 6/8/2008, Scott Day will reconfirm with Italianisimo.

Teams: BB MJ draft order (confirmed opposite 2007 regular season finish), Mariners 1^st then Yankees then Angels then Orioles then Giants. BB MN draft order by draw.

Equipment: reviewed that pitching machines will be used at BB RK plus BB AA.

Fields: reviewed that NSD field selection meeting dates.

Sponsorship/Fundraising: reviewed Jamboree progress, confirmed raffle basket plus 2 dunk tanks plus hitting contest with prizes plus accuracy v speed. Discussed base running in early or pre-season with helmets or bags options for players.
