Registration Update:
Regular
Registration Ended on November 30, 2007
- Current
registration for 2008 season is currently at 393. Baseball – 317; Softball –
76.
- Last
year at this time, registration was at 455. Net difference is -62
registrants.
- Northshore School District is also reporting downward
growth.
- $435 in
Donations received
- Approximately 127 volunteers have
registered online.
- Prior
year Scholarship limit is maximum $1,000. 3 registrations have requested them
and will be notified after Dec 15, 2007.
- Tech
committee will review computer registration options. CMI is current host for
approximately $1,000/yr.

Int’l requirement is 12yr old must be Majors
- WLL’s
rule is 11yr old must be Minors
SB & JR/SR & BB
2008
Manager Selection Committee
- Meeting
is January 3, 2008 at CEC. All levels and all programs will be nominated from
committee.
- Manager
Selection Committee: President, Coaches Coordinator, UIC, VP BB, VP JR/SR, and
VP SB. Will select additional volunteers from Julie Byram, Roger Kacmarcik,
Steph Bailey.
- To help
determine manager nominations, there will be a review of manager feedback, UIC
comments, volunteer applications, training, etc.
Softball
- Proposal
to match SB to BB guidelines for MN & MJ age/player levels. Discussion of
age limits for Softball playing level.
- Motion:
League age 11 is minimum age for Majors & League age 9 is minimum age for
Minors. Motion passed.
Player
Review
- Softball
and Baseball Player review is same 2 day period. Evening of Friday, February
1, 2008 and all day on Saturday, February 2, 2008.
- Help
will be needed.
- WLL has
9 ‘penny’ jerseys for use during player review day. Need to order 6 more, at
larger sizes. Kerri Fredrickson will order.
- Jr/Sr
Player Review is Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Rijo. Wendy is coordinating and
will need help.
Safety & Umpire
Roger
Kacmarcik is updating Safety Plan.
Breakaway
bases for school fields have been ordered.
LL, D8, NAF & Interleague
updates
Work party
opportunity at NAF. Looking for donations of equipment use plus
volunteers.
Other
- Brian is
trying to coordinate facility rental for Picture Day. May be Timbercrest or
Leota Jr High.
- NSD
indicates repairs can be requested through fields department.
- Field
pricing still being revamped by the Northshore School District. Prices are
going up for 2008.
- The next
WLL Board meeting is 2nd Tuesday of January (1/8/08).
- Room
Rental Prices going up in February, 2008, for CEC facility.
- January,
2008 WLL Board meeting will include a review of rules for Baseball per LL
Int’l.
- Review
the rules for Pitchers and Catchers (swapping positions in the same
game)
- Days
of Rest vs Game of Rest
- No
special WLL pitching rules for 2008; elimination of WLL rounding down rule
from 2007.
- Uniforms: the Rookie level has a
full set of Athletics in inventory which need to be used in 2008.
