Treasurers report

  • Don presented the 2007 proposed budget and described his assumption.  Account balances on December 31, 2006:  Checking $31,965.13 and Savings $10,226.76.
  • There was a motion to approve the proposed budget.
    • Motion, by Jack Winter, to approve the proposed budget.
    • Motion Seconded by Julie Byram
    • Motion Passed Unanimously

  • Jack asked for a volunteer to represent the WLL.

Juniors/Seniors and Softball Programs

  • Woodinville West & Woodinville presidents agreed to co-operate both programs with each league paying a proportional share of expenses based on players. Softball registrations are currently 50 for Woodinville West and 120 for Woodinville.

Jamboree Ideas

  • Asking the fundraising/jamboree committee to have each team provide a basket for the raffle. An invitation was made to both Softball & JR/SR to participate in the jamboree.

Microsoft Volunteer Contribution

  • Discussed MSFT matching contributions. Need to encourage MSFT employees to make claim on behalf of participation in WLL.

Equipment Return

  • The league has had trouble with Managers returning equipment.  This year the Coach Pitch teams will receive a pitching machine that cost approximately $150.  After much discussion, it was decided that we will ask those Coach Pitch Manager so provide a check for a $150 deposit.  Don Gracia will hold on to the checks and when the Pitching Machines are returned, their deposit checks will be returned.

Minors and Managers Reporting Scores

  • For the 2007 season, the home team will be responsible for emailing final scores and pitch count information to the Coaching Coordinator.  The home team will be responsible for acquiring the information from the opposing team at the conclusion of the game.  If the Home Team Manager does not email their information on time, the Manager will receive a public warning.
  • We should try to hold a Scorekeepers clinic.  Coaching Coordinator will plan.

Registration

  • 4 year olds are not eligible to participate.
  • There will be no in-person registration.
  • Julie Byram will handle late registrations.
  • Currently enough registrations for only 5 major teams. No returning manager for the 2006 Cubs or Nationals.

Player Review

  • It’s important to reserve location and date for 2008 Player Review now.  The date will be set by January 29th and will be posted to the website.

Managers Evaluation

  • We will conduct the Manager’s Evaluations by handing out printed evaluations at games close to the end of the season.

Calendar Items

  • Majors draft is planned for January 29th
  • Minors draft is planned for January 31st
  • Safety Meeting February 13th 6:30 to 9 pm in the Cottage Lake Cafeteria  – Mandatory attendance by one representative from each team
  • Players will not be notified of Minors or Majors team placement until Friday, February 16th at 4 pm.
  • D8 Umpire Training Field Mechanics – March 17th
  • D8 Umpire Rules Training – March 13, 15 and 19th
