WLL Board Meeting

June 13th

May meeting minutes reviewed and approved.

Saturday June 22nd is Uniforms/Equipment return day.

Farm, Rookie, Seniors will be keeping their shirts this year.

Attempt to collect Safety Kits.

Advise the Managers to clean the gear if possible before turning it in.

Evaluations can be turned in also.

Financial Report

Treasurer provided statement reflecting 48K in our account.

Charlie will be looking at what it actually costs us to run the league. His summer project will be to detail the account and provide an analysis of operating cost.

Ideas for what we can do with our money include FIELDs which will be first on our list. Partnering with the school district for field improvements will hopefully give us a better chance and relationship with fields.

Build in our losses.

Also seek more Clinic and skill building opportunities for the kids.

The Good and the Bad and the Ugly

Compliments on the continuous batting order.

Minor Level of play was impressive and it can be related to the 10 year old rule.

Rookie level used the 5 swinging pitches.

There were no takers for pitching machine.

Farm should have umpires. The umpired games seemed to up the level of play for

the players.

Farm innings and rules need to be reiterated.

Tball, Farm and Rookie start later then Minor and Major in WWLL and this could work for WLL.

Add a day to Farm, maybe a game at the end of the season.

Maybe add doubleheaders.

There were 12 Farm Teams so Minors may grow. There may be a need for a Super 8 or Super 9.

Eric had his coaches evaluate the players and there were 60 percent who may not be ready to move up.

Number of games ideal and the end of the season play let the slow regular season teams shine in tournament play.

Interleague with WWLL was slow to start in the Senior levels.

Coach Volunteers were tough to recruit.

Parents did not want the kids to suffer because the adults can’t figure out how to do make it work.

Next year need to charter for Junior Teams because this left out some of the WWLL players that were nominated.

Agnew Coaches Clinic was not at the level we had hoped for. NW Baseball is the way to go.

Janet Littlefield not coming back.    Yeah Yeah Right

Brian Williams not coming back.

Need some more Cottage Lake Representation.

Need to have more Volunteers in the Softball and Seniors.

Add board positions to keep this well oiled board running in 2002-2003.

Recruit for more positions and people to fill them.

How about a coaching position for lower levels to build coaching skill.

Need more umpiring at Junior. Perception was it was usually the other teams dad.

Email any more Ideas you may have to Charlie.
