Opening - Rob

 

  1. December  minutes were reviewed and approved.

 

AED – Doug Hakala

 

  1. Doug Hakala is donating an AED unit. Discussed training and ease of use.
  2. Unit will be housed at the concession stand at the Complex.
  3. Training will include the concession operator and Minor/Major managers.

 

 

Registration Update - Rob

 

  1. 489 players have registered for baseball and 62 for softball.
  2. This will result in 6 T-Ball, 6 Rookie, 7 AA, 7AAA, 6 Minor, 6 Major, 3 Junior and 1 Senior teams for baseball.
  3. For softball, this results in 1 Farm, 2 Minor, 1 Major and 1 Junior teams.

 

Manager Appointments

 

  1.  List of managers were presented for baseball.

 

Major Draft

 

  1.  Discussion on how to combine last year’s 7 teams into existing 5 and creating a brand new 6th team.  Need to verify returning Major players are indeed returning.
  2. Draft order was discussed as all major managers or their spouses were represented at meeting.
  3. A couple of possibilities were discussed for the combining of teams and draft order. Final decision would be the Presidents.

 

Minor Draft

 

  1. Each team will draw numbers to set the order.
  2. Draft will be serpentine until each team has 12 players.

 

Important Dates

 

  1. 1/10 – Manager meeting @ Cottage Lake Elementary.
  2. 1/17, 1/24 - Player Review @ Big League Connection.
  3. Major and Minor draft sometime in January after player review.
  4. 2/28 – Coaching & Safety clinics
  5. 2/29 – Equipment & Uniform distribution at the Complex

Player Review

 

  1. To be held at the Big League Connection. Will need volunteers to help run it.

 

 

Coaching Clinic

 

1.      League will pay for team clinic for the Major and Minor levels.

2.      League will purchase a video on how to run efficient practices for teams at the t-ball through AAA levels.

 

Safety Update

 

  1. Still missing 20 new kits from last year.
  2. The projection is that we need 44 kits for all teams and equipment boxes.
  3. Safety plan is being worked and received a safety plan template from LL.

 

Field Report

 

1.      Will replace box locks.

2.      Will need 4 runners to drag fields.
