Minutes – January 10, 2006

Rob
Schwend called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm. Rob gave the Treasurer’s Report
and WLL currently has $32,533.66 total cash.
Jose,
from Rijo was at the meeting to talk about 3 scheduled coaches
clinics that Rijo is offering.
Interleague
Update: Kathy Lambert will be doing a
walkthrough at the complex on Friday, January 13. We are asking for $50K+ and our focus and
priorities will be Safety, playability/maintenance, upgrades and fan care.
Registration
Update: Registration went smoothly, we
have 597 registered compared with 604 last year. 446 (BB), 114 (SB) and 37 (JrSrBB)
Manager
Selection: Managers for 2006 have been
selected. There will be 7 majors teams, 7 Minors, 6 AAA, 5AA, 7 Rookie, 5
Tee-Ball. One expansion team will be
added to Majors.
There
was some discussion on whether or not to re-draft the majors each year or
whether to allow the kids to remain on the same majors team as long as they
play majors unless the child requests to be re-drafted (this is how we have
been doing it). It was decided
unanimously not re-draft each year..
Manager’s
Meetings coming up are Majors, January 19, Minors/AAA, January 21 (this date
will possibly change due to conflicts) AA/Rookie/Tee-Ball – TBD
Player
Review will be at the Northshore Sports Complex on Friday, February 3 and
Saturday, February 4.
Pitch
Count Pilot Program: It was voted to
participate in this program. This will
be in effect during the regular season it will be determined at a later date
whether this will be adopted for the TOC as well. There will be specific scorekeeper training
and each team will be required to send one person to this training.
A
committee was set up to finalize and organize how our league will implement
this. The committee members will be
Kathi Huck, Dave Kummerlowe, Jack Winter, Kevin Woody and Eric Mischke.
It
was also discussed and approved to purchase a laptop computer for the Treasurer
to use so it can be handed off to the next treasurer and all of the WLL information will be on
it. The President and other board
members will also keep information on it so Board Position information can be
handed down to new board members. Possible donation from current board member or
we could also do some fundraising.
There
will be a general fundraising meeting on January 18.
The
regular season will begin on March 26
Picture
day will be March 25.
