WLL Minutes

 

Attendees:  Jim Greer, David Vintertun, Brad Powell, Charlie Chase, Paul Johnson, Rob Schwend, Dave Kummerlowe, Kathi Huck, Darlene Jones

 

Meeting Opened at 7:05 pm

 

Treasurer’s Report – Sue Scheid:  Not available.

 

D8 Update - Rob Schwend:  LL Patches will be handed out for Majors and Minors teams.  They should be in place by the TOC.

 

League age change – assume it’s happening.  No 12’s in Juniors.  WLL can grandfather as we see fit for 12’s and below.

 

Some leagues have an issue with extra practice time by some teams.  Not an issue in WLL.

 

WLL Safety Plan has been approved.

 

There’s a make-up Dr. Smoll clinic scheduled for 5/23 at Northshore Jr High Theater.

 

Jamboree – Paul Johnson:  Jamboree was a huge success.  Lots of fun had by all.  WLL should always have it in late April to coincide with the opening day for Tee-Ball and Coach Pitch.  We netted $2150 this year – a three-fold increase over last year.

 

WLL Tourney– Brad Powell:  We’ll use a double-elimination format (actually triple elim).  We’ll use tournament pitching rules.  Dates will be 5/14 – 5/22.  The week between 5/23 and 5/30 will be practice time in prep for the TOC

 

All Stars – Darlene and Rob: Rob and John will finalize manager appointments in the next week.  Rob and Darlene have reviewed the text on the website and have made changes – mostly to eliminate specific dates because they change every year.  Todd will post the changes. 

 

Uniforms – WLL will provide 2 practice jerseys, 1 hat and 1 pin per player.  WLL will purchase game jerseys and players who wish to keep theirs will reimburse the league.  All other uniform parts (ie. pants, socks, etc.) will be the player’s responsibility.

 

2005 Process:

·                 President appoints managers in May and informs the board

·                 Players wishing to be eligible sign commitments forms by 5/15

·                 Ballots created for voting to take place in WLL tourney

·                 Managers, Players and Coaches vote.

·                 Top four vote getters are automatically on their respective teams

·                 Managers and coaches complete their teams as they see fit\

·                 Manager delivers team list for President’s approval

·                 Manager submits a list of 3-4 alternates to President in case a player must be dismissed for some reason.  Reasons can include disciplinary, injury, unavailability, etc.

·                 All Star announcements will be made on June 15th 2005.

 

TOC - Rob: Final league participation – WLL, WW, NB, NK, K, NKC

Fields: Complex, Hamlin, Bastyr, WSF (school fields if necessary)

Dates: 5/31 – 6/16

Rules: Same as last year w/ Tournament Pitching

Managers Meeting: 5/25
