December 6, 2005

Attendees -  Rob Schwend, Sue Scheid, Eric Mischke, Linda Wyrick, Stepheney Bailey, Catherine Caroll, Richard Janshen, Barb Ching, Mich Earl, Jack Winter, Jim Greer, Julie Byram, Steve David, David Vintertun, Reesie Vintertun

Treasurer’s Report – Sue reported a balance of $16,165.25 in the account.  She is still working on 2006 budget so there was no complete report given.

Winter WorkoutsDavid Vintertun reported that the Winter Workout sessions are going very well.  There are approximately 25 major’s kids involved.  If anyone else is interested they can be put on the waitlist or gather a group of kids and volunteers and start their own.

Interleague Update – Rob attended the Interleague meeting and Kathy Lambert was present at the meeting with ideas to help the Little League.  She informed the leagues that there are 13 passenger vans that need to be given away to a non-profit organizations.  There will also be some renovations at the complex and a round-a-bout put in right at the complex parking lot as well as at the Hollywood Schoolhouse intersection.  Looking into possibly getting the Complex parking lot paved.

Jamboree – The board decided that the Jamboree would be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006.

Registration Update – There are 487 kids registered as of 12/5 (compared to 135 at this time last year).  One hundred and eight are new to WLL with 67 first time players.  There will be a face-to-face day with WW on January 7 at the Woodinville Library from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  It was suggested that we put an ad in the paper for walk ins on that date.

Manager Selection – The committee to decide on new managers will be Rob, John Hamilton, Eric Mischke, Dave Kummerlowe, Jack Winter and Mich Earl.  They will meet right after Christmas to have final decisions by January 7.  It was also suggested that the newer coaches get some help from some high school baseball players to help them with drills, etc.  The students can use this for community service requirements.

Pitch Count Pilot Program – Rob brought up the need for some leagues to participate in the pitch count pilot program.  This would regulate limiting the number of pitches a pitcher can deliver in a day and how many days rest would be required based on number of pitches not innings pitched.  It would also do away with the 12 year pitching rule.  It was discussed with positive feedback.  The consensus was that it would allow more kids to pitch and would give coaches an incentive to give more kids a chance to pitch.  To be voted on at the January meeting.

Player Reviews – They will be held on Friday, Feb 3 for 12 year olds and Saturday, Feb 4 for 9, 10 and 11 year olds.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.

Respectfully,

Reesie Vintertun
