Registration Information

Registration is CLOSED

Registration has been open since November, and is now CLOSED. Except as noted below, there are no more player placement slots available. For most levels, registration is open from November thru February.

HOWEVER, we are still looking for a couple of players at Softball Majors (age 11-12), and Baseball Jr's (age 13-14). If interested, contact the League Registrar.

Boundary

Little League® Baseball Incorporated approves the geographic boundary for participation in WLL. You must live within the WLL boundaries to participate with WLL. For a child to be eligible to participate in tournament All Stars after the end of regular season, the boundary requirement will be strictly enforced and documented.

Woodinville Little League Boundary Map (updated for the 2013 season)

If you are still not sure whether you reside within the WLL Boundaries, please go to the Washington State Little League site and type in your address. This will tell you what league you should register with. It is important that you take the responsibility to check this, as refunds and address checking cost us valuable volunteer time and credit processing fees.

If you live outside of our league boundaries, and want to inquire about the waiver process, please contact the League President.

Most baseball levels will practice and play games in and around Woodinville. Jr/Sr levels will have games beyond Woodinville boundaries.

Softball levels will play games inter-league (between Distrct 8 leagues). Teams may be WLL only, or co-league (combined with other District8 leagues). Games may be WLL only, inter-league, or inter-district (between Washington districts), and will be played both inside and outside of the Woodinville area.

Player Placement Guidelines

Please refer to the Levels of Play page for more detailed information on player age and player progression.

For ages 9-12, Baseball and Softball teams at Minors and Majors are formed by a draft process following a Player Review.

SOFTBALL: The date for Player Review for Softball is the afternoon of Saturday, February 2nd.

BASEBALL: The date for Player Review for Baseball is the late afternoon/evening of Saturday, February 9, 2013.

Email will be sent out to age/level qualified players in late-January with exact details about Player Review. Additional details and an overview can be found on the Player Review page.

All other teams are formed via player placement. The overriding goal for younger players, age 4-9, is to have fun and learn baseball/softball skills. At this age, having fun also means playing on a team with friends in the child's peer group. To reach this objective, teams are formed by the Player Agents according to the following criteria:

1)
Registration Date and Time
- late registrations will have lower priority.
2)
Special Requests
- Special requests are entered during player registration. This request can be anything from playing with other children and/or a specific coach. This helps the PA to place children with friends. Please DO NOT request play/practice on specific days or times, as its the coaches who pick their practice timeslots, and the scheduler schedules games. These don't occur until mid-February, after teams are formed.
3)
Public School Neighborhood
- Teams will usually be balanced with players from 2 schools unless there is a special request.
4)
Prior Participation
- children may be placed with the same children as a prior season.
5)
Roster Size
- TBall team size is targeted at 10 Players. All other player levels team size is targeted at 12 players. At Majors, team size is mandated at 12 players at the start of the season.
6)
Safety Issues - Players may be placed outside of their peer group at the discretion of the Board of Directors (BOD). This would be based on knowledge of a child's playing skills as either too advanced (throws or hits too hard for a certain level) or not developed enough (unable to protect self appropriately for the level of play). This would be limited to the placement guideline by player age and level of play.

The league and the Player Agents do their best to ensure Special Requests for ages 4-9 are met

  • All other teams will be announced between mid to late February.

Practices/Games:

  • Practices can begin on March 1, 2013. Majors/Minors teams will start at that time, and the younger teams may start at that time, or slighly later, weather dependant.
  • Games will begin in mid-March for Majors/Minors and late March/early April for other levels. The season ends between June 9-15, 2013.

Final Notes

  • New families (and those from the former Woodinville West Little League) will be asked to create an account prior to entering your player's new registration.
  • If you played in Woodinville Little League last season, your username is tied to your email address from last season. You will have the ability to retrieve your username and password at the start of the registration process. If you still have problems, please email the Registrar.
  • Returning families and players will see their existing information from the previous season.
  • Please ensure you update your email address if it has changed
  • REQUIRED: Update your player's grade level and information, since that HAS changed since last season. Double check their birthdate is listed correctly. Having the correct birthdate, grade, and a valid parental email address and phone number are the primary methods of contact between the league and you regarding registration, confirmation, Player Review, team, and schedule announcements.
  • Returning families will be able to register new players.
  • For any player interested in playing at the "Big League" level for 17/18 yr olds, please email the District 8 Administrator at gilson13@msn.com. District 8 handles all registrations for Big League Baseball, separate from the local leagues.
